Don't Be Afraid of the Light!

I have been learning sooo much during my morning quiet times with God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Divine word of the Lord while studying 1 John.  It has really been a blessing to my soul.  I am so glad to be a part of the  Good Morning Girls 1 John Bible Study !  Thanks to Rachel for posting it on her blog!

During my study this week, I have learned to not be afraid of the Light!  The Light of God!  There is no reason to be afraid of light. It brightens!  It shines and exposes! It gives life!  Light omits darkness.  What we should be afraid of is the dark.  That is, the dark areas of our lives and our willingness to keep some things, some faults, some mistakes hidden there.  Especially, if we are children of GOD, profess Christ and claim to be doers of His Holy Word.

1John 1:5 NASB This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.  Therefore, neither we as women or men of God should hide our errors and/or faults in the dark.  We must ask God to shine His light to expose our dark places so that the light we emit to others won't be dimmed.  Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 NASB

If we are walking in darkness.  Walking in sin.  Walking in untruth.  Walking in unrighteousness.  Walking in disobedience.  Walking contrary to the will of God.  Then, we do not have fellowship with God.  We are not His.  But, if we are walking in the light.  Walking in holiness.  Walking in righteousness.  Walking in obedience.  Allowing our steps to be ordered by God.  Then, we must have a relationship with Him and as we walk in the Light because He is the light, the precious blood of Jesus cleanses us as we reveal the dark areas of our lives to Him in prayer and confession of our sins.  If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, w have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:6-7 NASB

Also, confess your sins.  If we say we have no sin,we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8-9 NASB  We serve a faithful, just, sovereign God who will not only forgive but purify you.  He will take those faults, throw them in the sea of forgetfulness and wash you with His precious Son's blood.  He can't do this if we are lying to ourselves, each other and Him that we have no faults, nothing is wrong, and/or everything is OK.  Confess!

As I mentioned before, this study is so good!  I'm learning so much already.

Lord, thank you for the opportunity to spend a moment in your Word and with you.  Thank you for shining your light!  Thank you for your precious light!  Thank you for shining it in my dark places.  Places that were even hidden to me.  Thank you for being a forgiving, faithful and awesome Father.  Thank you for cleansing me of my sins.  Thank you for crucifying my flesh so that I can confess when I am wrong and not walking in your light, but in darkness.  Thank you again for your grace and mercy.  Lord, continue to allow us to walk in your light so that our light will shine so brightly that others will not see us, but YOU oh God.  Order our steps, Lord.  In your precious Son's name I pray, Amen.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

It's been a while since I've blogged or written anything.  It's been an interesting year, but I'm still standing.  I'm glad to say that I am going to make the enemy out of a liar and start back blogging for God's glory.  There is a work for me to do and I am going to submit and heed to HIS call.

God has and is still doing a work in me.  For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 NASB

I am so grateful for God's grace and mercy.  I am becoming a new woman of GOD.  I am being purified by the precious blood of JESUS.  He is doing a new thing in me.  Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature, the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 2 Corinthians 5:17 NASB

Continue to keep me in prayer as GOD does his work on me.  He's shaping, molding, and rebuilding me.

Lord, I praise and thank you for keeping your hand upon me.  I am grateful for the work you are doing within me.  I thank you for being a sovereign GOD and being Jehovah Jireh, my provider.  Lord you are worthy of all glory and honor.  I love you and will let nothing separate me from the love of GOD.  Continue to keep me in perfect peace and use me for your glory!  In Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen!

Transforming....
